1. JOHAN JÜRG1 ANSTEIN was born Abt. 1737 in Wurtenburg, Germany, and died 1799 in Shrewsbury, Pennsylvania. He married CATHARINA BÜRGER October 08, 17531. She died 1807 in Shrewsbury, Pennsylvania.

Came to the US (Port of Philadelphia) from Rotterdam on the Neptune Sept 24, 1751. John Mason from Rotterdam was Captain with 284 Passengers. Taken from "A collection of Upwards of 30,000 names of german Immigrants in Pennsylvania from 1727 -1776")
Married Catherine Burger or Ringer (Not sure of last name) 8 Oct 1753.
Had 10 children. (No knowledge of 6 of the children)Hans George Anstine, Von Einstine, Anstein arrived from Rotterdam and Cowes at the philadelphia landing on the ship Neptune with Christian Blaser and British consumption. Then left to go to Canada and later fleed from there to avoid conscription British Army. He then took his family to Wyoming Valley, now in Luzerne Co. along the north branch of the susquehanna River. This area was claimed by both Conneticut and Pennsylvania, there was constant conflict between the settlers. Meanwhile the Indians were massacring both factions. Hans George left with his family to York county where he bought 315 acres in Windsor township for $2,000 in gold and silver coins from Christian Sailor on April 3, 1782. During the Revolutionary War his son John had strong British sympathies and moved to Charlston So. Carolina. Charleston was under British control for 2 years after our independence. (John listed in 1820 census). The Wyoming Massacre happened in 1788. This information coming from Lena Booth's research. From Becky of Dallastown, PA. She is Anstine by Marriage to William Rollin Anstine. Now coming from Eddna Ankany, granddaughter of George M. Anstine and Janice Anstine Fischer. Hans George was born in Wurtongton, Germany.
