"George ANSTINE, died May 30, 1816, 81? yrs, 6 mos & 6 days. (O)"

Codicil of Last Will and Testament of George Anstine is dated 3/27/1841, and therefore death is after this 3/27/1841. On 9/28/1998 Ron Johnson determines there is wash and wear on the number one in 1816 in a photograph of George Anstine's tombstone. During the same telephone conversation with Ron, Frank Schmuck uses deductive reasoning concluding consistent wash and wear of the tombstone erroded the left side of the number 4 erroneously indicating a 1. Therfore 1816 is really 1846 and 81? years is really 84 years which makes the death 5/30/1846. His birth Birth date by way of 84 yrs 6 mos & 6 days from this death date is 11/24/1758 which is confimed in Pennsylvania German Church Records Volume 2 page 147 as 11/24/1758.

Notes for CATHERINE ANSTINE:

Sister Catherine seems to have disconnected herself from the family as she is not named in any baptisms nor other affairs that are recorded in the town of Stewartstown or the Church at Sadler's. She does not seem to have been married, though she is named favorably in her fathers will. She was herself buried at Blymire's Church Cemetery about 10 miles or so north of Sadler's Church, near Dallastown, Pa. It seems she had left the immediate area of her father's farm, mills, church, and perhaps .. influence. See the notes for Catherine for more light on this matter[Dorothy Hidelbrand.FTW]

Notes for ELIZABETH ANSTINE:

Concerning Elizabeth Anstine, daughter of George & Anna Barbara (Sherer) Anstine, I make the following observation .. she is buried at Sadler's Cemetery with her mother & father, and it would seem to me that if she were married to a responsible man and died at the age of 39 years, would not her husband obtain his own burial site where he might later be buried with his wife ? I suggest that it was Elizabeth's father George who determined where his daughter Elizabeth was buried, and that due to her having never been married
